The Robinson House
features three bedrooms; two baths; fully equipped kitchen; laundry
facilities; den with wireless Internet; cable TV; and local phone
service at no additional charge. The Robinson House also features
a fireplace with gas logs, and has a gas grill on the back porch for
the outdoor grilling enthusiasts. The home is conveniently located
within walking distance of downtown Charles Town and Jefferson Memorial
Hospital. Charles Town Races and Slots is only a half mile away, and
historical Harpers Ferry is eight miles. Additional places of interest
include the Old Opera House Theatre Company in Charles Town and Happy
Retreat (currently a privately owned residence), originally the home
of Charles and Mildred Washington – the brother of George Washington.
Several books on area history and a self-guided walking tour are available
in our local library and museum, as well as in the library of The
Robinson House.
The former owners
not only loved history, but flowers as well. The gardens and yard
are an ongoing work of love to maintain. You may find your host or
hostess watering the flowers, feeding the fish in the pond, or pruning
during your stay. Your company and conversation are always welcome.
